Almost exactly a month ago, I made a blog post titled “Dare I Make Plans.” And clearly… I did, indeed, dare, and I thus made plans. UGH
The post was met with multiple people warning me about making such a decision.
I learned long ago that posting about plans seems to definitely jinx them!
Sarah – Draft Mare
Fingers crossed the plan comes together! I’ve stopped making plans….
Stacie – Amateur at Large
But made plans I did. I even got a jump on those plans by buying my USEA membership (and signing up for the Adult Rider Area Program), entering my first horse trial, AND entering a combined test to knock some rust off.
Obviously, since I posted that blog… things have changed. My first horse trial was canceled and lord knows what will happen with the next couple of my calendar. The effects this could have on our community are widespread and potentially devastating.
So, as your current situation allows, try to help. Still join the memberships you were planning on joining. Try to spend your money locally (or with any small business). If your lesson program shuts down, consider buying a lesson package ahead of time. If you didn’t buy some horse show pictures last year, please buy a couple. If you bought some digital ones, and still want to support a photographer, see if you can buy a print.
And please, please, give one another a little grace. Horse show organizers are doing their absolute best. Barn managers are doing their absolute best. We are all just doing our best.
Hopefully, this little bit of good helps offset the wrong I did by encouraging the Gods of eventing to smite me.
COVID19 is the most ultimate smiting ever. Daggon!
Way to go causing a global pandemic, GEEZ.
I know I know. How dare I make any kinds of plans ever.
I knew I would find someone to blame!! You are so powerful 😉 HA hA HA no go back in your corner now. 🙂 Hahahhaah
Going and hiding…. sorry sorry 😛
I know this feeling.
I knew plans were bad news! Ha!
Seriously though, this is nuts. Life is so weird right now.
